A look back: Most controversial posts on GhostTheory

Today I was going through my blog and looking at the number of posts, registered users, RSS subscribers and overall comments from the months that this blog has been up. It’s been 9 months since we first launched and I have seen this site create some big stirs on the web.

We’ve grown from a mere handful of pageviews a day, to over a thousand pageviews daily in the last few months.

I’d like to recap the most controversial posts that we have made and that have put us on the map in these short 9 months.

So, for your enjoyment, I present to you the most controversial posts in GhostTheory.com:

#1 Flying entities of Mexico – A closer look

This is the one single post that actually propelled GhostTheory on to the ‘stratosphere of the blogosphere’. I interviewed the owner and analyzed the evidence of the “Mexican flying humanoids” video. Translating the interview and providing insights to the story that was not leaked to the media before. The story alone got us on the front page of FOX news, The Sun newspaper, Drudge Report, Coast To Coast AM as well as countless other news papers around the globe. The mystery still stands as unresolved….

#2 Full Body Apparition Caught on Camera

This report of an apparent ghost apparition that was captured with a digital camera made some major waves as well about a month ago. Reaching over 22,500 views (1/4 of what the ‘flying humanoid post recieved’) this is the second most popular post on GhostTheory. The HPI paranormal team captured this astounding image.

#3 Phone calls from a dead Metrolink train crash victim?

The terrible accident that occurred in September here in Los Angeles brought upon a very intriguing story. One of the MetroLink’s train crash victim supposedly made some phone calls to his family members moments after his death. To this day, Cell phone records show that the calls were placed after the coroner’s official time of death. This brought upon some conversations within the GhostTheory community about “Calls from the dead”. I received about 40 or so emails from our readers sharing their personal stories about these paranormal calls. Including a story that was shared to me by my sister about our dad that I’ve never heard of before. Bizarre.

#4 “The Entity” haunting: The true story of Doris Bither

The famous Culver City “Entity haunting”. This was a case that was investigated by Dr. Barry Taff. I wrote a summary of Dr. Taff’s investigation that managed to revive the interest in the case by the paranormal world. I got a few emails from either people who lived around the area and remembered the incident, to people who were curious about where the actual house was located. I got out there and took some shots of the actual home. As far as I know, those are the only existing pictures of the house on the web. The Entity case still stands as one of my favorites because of the meticulous documentation of Dr. Taff and the psychology behind this haunting.

#5 Hunting the Werewolf Hunter – Interview with Linda Godfrey

The infamous “Beast of Bray road”. I interviewed author and award-winning journalist Linda Godfrey about the strange reports that are coming from certain states in the midwest that consist of some dog-man looking creature. Linda Godfrey does an incredible job at cataloging each eyewitness report and has the keen ability to remain skeptical of all evidence. She was kind enough to forward us a copy of her latest book for our upcoming Book Review section.

#6 Seeing Things: Ghostly polaroids

A small house in the suburbs of Los Angeles holds one of the greatest finds (mysteries) that have emerged in awhile. We interview and analyze the famous “Ghost polaroid” case. This story is a Halloween favorite and always brings in the controversial theories and the crazy emails.
