Okay now that I addressed that annoying post, I have to say after living in North Carolina and seeing the famous Brown Mountain lights that the swamp gas theory only holds so much weight before the argument goes up in gas as well. Besides, these are mountains. Not swamplands. Duh.

It stands to reason that if these “lights” have been seen in specific areas for so long it can be attributed to something natural and explainable. Otherwise it would happen in numerous places. One thing you didn’t mention is ball lightning which is known to appear out of nowhere, act erratically and disappear as quickly as it came.

When you talk about those deep mountain communes I can’t help thinking about that movie “Turistas”.
