'Texas'is a classic. At this point in my life, I couldn't watch it again. The background noise used in the film was as horrifying as its content.

It's hard to find a movie these days that sends a lightning bolt of terror up your a** like that one did.

I thought I'd read somewhere that Gein was a paranoid schizophrenic?

I always felt that the director of this movie had to have severe psychological problems. It was just too disgusting and kinky. That means you Tobe Hooper!

Serial Killers, huh? This movie was probably the Blair Witch of it's time. Horribly written, horribly enacted and utterly ridiculous. And now that I know more of the history behind the story, I'm even more disgusted. If we are going to be seduced by a movie franchise based on real events, then we should get the accounts of the real events on screen. Luckily we have Rob Zombie to give us a better version of the same story. I can actually watch that one and not think it ridiculous.

Ed Gain did live a sad life based on what you've told us. If his story gave the screenwriters the inspiration to produce the movie, great. They should have just thanked him in the credits. I would guess that he's laughing his butt off at the spoof of a film they made.

Serial killers are fascinating especially if you grasp what's going through their minds as they go from one victim to the next. if not, leave that storyline alone.
