Friday Video: The Legend Of Boggy Creek
This installment of ‘Friday Video’ I bring to you “The Legend Of Boggy Creek“. The 1972 docudrama about the “Fouke Monster” of Arkansas. Given that there has been a lot of news lately about Bigfoot sightings, I figured that this would be appropriate.
The “Fouke Monster” has been witnessed numerous times with description resembling that of Bigfoot. A photograph exists that many claim is that of the mysterious beast.
**WARNING** I’m actually about to watch the movie for the first time. If you are watching it and the screen starts to dim, don’t trip out.
So last night we had a Christmas party for the place I work at. We had Brazilian BBQ and a open bar. No need to explain what happened afterward. In fact, I don’t remember.
I was testing out the stream of the movie and I noticed the screen on my Mac starting to go dimmer and dimmer. Tripped me out. I have a massive hangover and I’m sleepy. So I thought I was dying.
No really! I thought I was slipping into some peaceful abyss. I jerked and moved my mouse and the screen went bright again. LOL.
The DivX Web Player automatically dims your desktop except for the movie. Really cool! (If you’re not hungover)
Hope you enjoy it.

oooh…thx J’
I remember seeing this at the drive in as a youngster. It was pretty scary.
Here’s a small contribution to the topic:
My boyfriend’s family used to live in Fouke. More precisely, they lived on a farm in the epicenter of the monster sightings. One evening, one of the family members witnessed a hand, large and shaggy, edging into the chicken coop, and he shot at it. The owner of the hand became violent and apparently beat the family member soundly before running off. So either hungry vagrant or hungry monster, but the family member dislikes talking about it to this day.
Sightings on the farm area became so frequent that tourists would even camp out on the property at night to try and catch a glimpse of the monster.
Sometimes I wonder if these monsters are actually mentally ill folk wandering homeless through the countryside simply looking for food and shelter.
