Scotland Hotel: Ghost On CCTV Video

Staff at the New Lanark Mill Hotel have been reporting paranormal activity for years. Now the hotel’s general manager, John Sirrat, claims that the CCTV security camera might have captured proof to backup the claims of paranormal activity.

“It is the strangest, eeriest thing I have ever seen,” said John. “It makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.”

My initial assessment of the video is that the so-called “ghost” can be some rain water collecting in the camera. It might appear to be moving due to the high winds. It’s really not that impressive, but the video is going around the internet as another “CCTV ghost video”.

I figured I would post it here on GhostTheory to get your opinion on this. What do you say? Water, ghost or something else?

A SCOTS hotel is convinced it has managed to capture a ghost on camera after CCTV cameras picked up spooky goings on in the car park.
Staff at the New Lanark Mill have reported ghostly sightings over the years – but now say they have evidence to back up their claims.
And the hotel’s general manager John Sirrat believes the footage, which you can see on our player below, is a ghost.
“It is the strangest, eeriest thing I have ever seen,” said John. “It makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

“We were routinely reviewing CCTV footage taken in the early hours of May 12 in our rear car park, an area that was formerly stables,” he said.
“We were startled to see, quite clearly, a mysterious ghostly shape in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen which came and went.
“At one point it disappears through a door, without opening it, and reappears. No staff, guests or members of the public were outside at the time, so it is definitely not human nor a trick of the light.”

A small brightly coloured figure can be seen at the bottom of the footage, bobbing about.
“We were very fortunate to capture it on screen and it has caused considerable debate here in the village,” said John.
“Originally I was sceptical about ghosts but now, after reviewing the footage again and again, I’m not so sure.”
