Nottinghamshire Police: Witchcraft, UFOs and Ghosts…

Forty six reports of witchcraft, three reports of UFO incidents and thirty four reports of ghosts were made to the Nottinghamshire Police in the past six years. These types of numbers makes one wonder what exactly is going on in Nottinghamshire. Or more importantly, what are people reporting on witchcraft?

During the last six years, the Nottinghamshire police has been filing away reports of unexplained nature. What starts off as a possible intruder call, police find that the intruder is sometimes one of the caller’s dead relative. More bluntly, it’s a ghost causing disturbance.

I would assume that the majority of these reports are easily explained. Like ghosts who when investigated properly is nothing but random house noises. Simple explanations could also explain the “witchcraft complaints” as some kids out in a cemetery having fun.

What I found funny about the article is that one of GhostTheory’s resident funny man, Nobbles, was right!. The UFO reports were mainly Chinese lanterns.

The force revealed there were 46 reports of witchcraft, three UFO sightings and 34 incidents involving ghosts.

Ch Insp Ted Antill said there were calls where officers did attend the scene of “ghost sightings”.

He confirmed the UFO sightings were “exclusively” Chinese lanterns.

What the? Nobbles was right?
May god have mercy on us all…

Nottinghamshire Police received more than 80 reports of ghosts, witchcraft and UFO sightings in the last six years.

Paul Stevenson, from Haunted Magazine based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, submitted the Freedom of Information request to the police which led to the disclosure of the figures.

He said he was “very surprised” by the amount the police had received.

Ch Insp Antill said there are calls which at first appear to be “serious incidents”, like intruders in the property, but turn out “to be of the ghost nature.”

“When we have started interviewing people they talked about relatives that had just died and [they said] it could have been the ghosts of these people.”

The Freedom of Information Act allows a right of access to recorded information held by public authorities.
