Video: Is This The Iceland Worm Monster ?

The Iceland Worm Monster, Lagarfljóts Worm, has been a cryptic reported to live in the Lagarfljót Lake, Iceland.
Sightings of the Icelandic worm monster date back to early reports from the 14th century.

The stories describe a very long and massive worm-like creature that’s said to live on both land and water. Some eyewitnesses describe the creature as being 300 ft long, almost as long as a football field.

Of course these old stories are only seen as local folklore or campfire tales. America’s Bigfoot, Scotland’s Nessie, and Africa’s Mokele Mbembe…these and other cryptids have a long history with ancient cultures that seem to deeply believe in their existence. Whether they’re real or not, well that’s another question.

Well, straight from Iceland there’s a video that is quickly circulating the web. This video is said to have been filmed on the shores of Lagarfljót Lake. The footage shows a crocodilian-like creature skimming the water surface of a frozen lake. Reptiles in cold climates?

I’m not sure what it is, or if the film is actually from Iceland, but the details are below. Anyone recognize the creature on film?

    Some folks probably won’t like that I say this, but to me it looks like either debris or possibly ice being maniupulated by the current. The current seems to be pretty messed up in that spot.

    It’s small chunks of ice built up on the edge of a large sheet of ice, which itself is floating on water and so moving about with the current. This is apparent in the second-half of the video.

    Really? I think it looks exactly like a large snake. I couldn’t get the link to the video to play but I found it on youtube as well, at least I hope this is the same video.

    Somehow I get the impression that whatever this is, it is being dragged or pulled through the water instead of propelling itself with that “S” motion snakes use to swim.
    I have no idea what this is but it does not seem to be alive to me.

    I doubt this was filmed on the water,it more likely filmed in a field and likely to be a rodent of somesort burrowing I.e. a mole

    I heard since this was posted that it was a fishing net that got frozen and just drags along with the current.

    Decent enough explanation for me.

    i want to know why ppl will just stand there and watch if you really want to prove you found some thing grab it quit being so scared. if it was me filming this i would have grabbed a fishing pole out of my truck and tried to catch it.

    uh daniel, my link above states it was just a fishing net, it’s not really the monster, thats why he didnt grab it, who’d want a cold wet fishing net?
