Bridge To Sri Lanka?

This story is fascinating if there is any truth to it.

1,750,000 Year Old Man-Made Bridge between Sri Lanka and India

NASA has imaged a mysterious ancient bridge between India and Sri Lanka.

The bridge was purportedly passable on foot until 1480 AD when a cyclone moved the sand around.
This recently-discovered bridge has been found to be made of a chain of limestone shoals.

Its unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made.
The bridge currently named as Adam’s Bridge (most popularly known as Ram Setu) is about 18 miles (30 km) long.
This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, according to which the bridge was built under the supervision of Lord Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme.

This bridge starts as a chain of shoals from the Dhanushkodi tip of India’s Pamban Island and ends at Sri Lanka’s Mannar Island.
Water between India and Sri Lanka is only 3 to 30 feet (1 to 10 meter) deep.

Because of the shallow waters, the bridge presents a problem in navigation, as big ships cannot travel in the shallow waters of the Pamban channel.
The discovery of this bridge is not only important for archaeologists, but it also gives an opportunity to the world to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

To the delight of conspiracists and disinformationists ,more studied and official word has made no determination yet if the structure is natural or artificial.

Adam’s Bridge or Rama’s Bridge is often dubbed as a “Mysterious Places in the World’s”. The mysterious ancient bridge with along 18 miles (30 km) which connects Mannar Island (Sri Lanka) and Pamban Island (India) is estimated to have more than 1,000,000 years old. The image of Adam’s Bridge itself is easily visible from the sea because it was not too deep, which is just as deep flooded approximately 1.2 meters (if the sea water is receding). Status of the bridge is still a mystery until this day, and according to the interpretation of experts, it estimated that Adam’s Bridge is closely related to the famous Indian epic, Ramayana.

Hindus believe Adam’s Bridge is closely related to the Ramayana epic in which the bridge mentioned built by Rama and his allies, the ape-man, who helped the Gods to help Rama to reach Sri Lanka to rescue his wife, Shinta, from the giant king, Ravana.

Sri Lanka’s archaeological department has issued a statement saying that the age of Adam’s Bridge may range between one million to two million years, but whether this bridge is completely formed by nature or man, it has not been able to explain them.

Whether the Ramayama refers to history, or is simply an attempt by early men to explain a natural feature is a common debate around the world. That two peninsular formations point so directly toward each other does lend to the likelihood of the formation being natural.

A little about Sri Lanka, in case anyone is not familiar with the geography.

Wikipedia
The pre-history of Sri Lanka goes back 125,000 years and possibly even as far back as 500,000 years.[24] The era spans the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and early Iron Ages. Among the Paleolithic human settlements discovered in Sri Lanka, Pahiyangala (named after the Chinese traveller monk Faxian), which dates back to 37,000 BP,[25] Batadombalena (28,500 BP)[26] and Belilena (12,000 BP) are the most important. In these caves, archaeologists have found the remains of anatomically modern humans which they have named Balangoda Man, and other evidence[27] suggesting that they may have engaged in agriculture and kept domestic dogs for driving game.
