Footprint Of God

Footprint Of God

Well, to add to the mystique surrounding reported discoveries of giant skeletons, and to lend support to John J Williams’ claims of having found an electrical device embedded in what he claims is a chunk of granite he found on the ground, I give you the Footprint of God.

Michael Tellinger shows off what could be one of the best pieces of evidence that there were giants on Earth a long, long time ago. Geologists have marvelled at this giant foot print in rough granite, about 4 feet long. Some still say that it is a natural erosion pattern.
Personally I find that suggestion highy improbable for various reasons that I will not go into here. Prof. Pieter Wagener from UPE, suggests that “there is a higher probability of little green men arriving from space and licking it out with their tongues, than being created by natural erosion”.
It is located in South Africa, near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border. It is estimated to be between 200 million and 3 Billion years old because of our current understanding of the formation of granites in Earth’s history. This dating immediately causes great debate and argument – so I urge you to keep your mind open and focused on the evidence.

Now, I will be the first to admit this looks a lot like a footprint. However there are just a couple of problems. When you are getting the best view of the print, where it looks most like a foot, you are viewing it from an actually pretty significant angle, meaning that the foot would have been at an ankle breaking angle when it first pressed into ground. And most importantly fossils and preserved footprints are found in sedimentary rock, sandstones and limestones typically.

In Granite? Never.

Granites cool from molten masses which were entirely underneath the surface of the Earth; they form under temperature conditions which would obliterate organic tissue, and are molten for up to millions of years (extreme cases: more generally ten-to-hundreds of thousands). Hence they do not form in environments where living things are present.

So unless some giant was spelunking in lava and got a serious owie then this is just a very rare coincidence or a very clever hoax. Even if a creature stepped in lava, being fluid it would not hold the shape. Fossils, and preserved footprints are preserved by being left behind in wet clay or mud that dries in that shape, and is filled in by subsequent layers. Sometimes more mud, other times volcanic ash. But always sedimentary rock. So how could erosion cause such a clear representation of what to all appearances is a human, albeit extremely large footprint?

Here is an example of a series of other erosion forms very similar.

Now, you may say this does not offer the same level of definition that Tellinger’s find does, yet it is clear to me

They were just playing an early version of Twister while listening to rock music.
