    Perhaps something substantive is coming out of the MUFON Symposium in Kentucky. Leonard Stringfield had been a central figure in UFO research after having his own visual encounter during WWII. In 1954 Stringfield created Civilian Research, Interplanetary Flying Objects (CRIFO), and was approached by the Air Force to cooperate in mutual sharing of sighting reports.
