Paranormal Activity: Evidence of a haunting

Note: I’ve seen the movie and must admit, this is a really good movie. I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Paranormal Activity Movie

If this was 1998 or 1999 I would be really excited and terrified at the same time. But it’s not. It’s 2009. It’s been 10 years since the “Blair Witch Project”. A few years since “Cloverfield” and “The last Broadcast”.

Paranormal Activity: Evidence of a haunting is the new “shaky-cam” movie set to come out soon.

From the PA website:

Q. What is “Paranormal Activity”?
A. A young couple suspects that their house is haunted by a malevolent entity. They set up video surveillance to capture evidence of what happens at night as they sleep.
Their surveillance and home videos have been edited into the 99 minute feature film “Paranormal Activity”.

Q. Well, did they get any evidence?
A. Some incredible footage was captured. The interpretation of what it means, is up to the viewer.

So the producers are putting a whole “Blair Witch” spin on this thing. Releasing little information about the movie, tidbits that make it seem like this was a real event. That what they are showing you is raw material from what the victims recorded. Too played out. Not inspiring nor imaginative enough.

Myself, I will skip this movie. Maybe I’ll add it to my NetFlix queue. I’ll put it right below Val Kilmer’s “Top Secret!” Now that’s a movie.
