Paranormal Activity: Evidence of a haunting
Note: I’ve seen the movie and must admit, this is a really good movie. I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover.

If this was 1998 or 1999 I would be really excited and terrified at the same time. But it’s not. It’s 2009. It’s been 10 years since the “Blair Witch Project”. A few years since “Cloverfield” and “The last Broadcast”.
Paranormal Activity: Evidence of a haunting is the new “shaky-cam” movie set to come out soon.
From the PA website:
Q. What is “Paranormal Activity”?
A. A young couple suspects that their house is haunted by a malevolent entity. They set up video surveillance to capture evidence of what happens at night as they sleep.
Their surveillance and home videos have been edited into the 99 minute feature film “Paranormal Activity”.Q. Well, did they get any evidence?
A. Some incredible footage was captured. The interpretation of what it means, is up to the viewer.
So the producers are putting a whole “Blair Witch” spin on this thing. Releasing little information about the movie, tidbits that make it seem like this was a real event. That what they are showing you is raw material from what the victims recorded. Too played out. Not inspiring nor imaginative enough.
Check out the trailer:
Myself, I will skip this movie. Maybe I’ll add it to my NetFlix queue. I’ll put it right below Val Kilmer’s “Top Secret!” Now that’s a movie.
Note: I’ve seen the movie and must admit, this is a really good movie. I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover.

TOP SECRET! that is a flash back for sure! lmao
Definitely stoked to see this flick. I remember when they were still looking for distributors, so they obviously did well landing with Paramount. I’m surprised though that this isn’t being debuted in major metropolitan areas such LA or New York.
Now cows wearing rubber boots in Top Secret! is more paranormal than the “cloverfield witch project” movie here, lol.
South Dakota Guy,
I have to confess……
My friend over at Creepyla.com really got me interested in this screening…so I signed up for RSVP for next week.
I know, I’m a hypocrite.

You never know Jav, it might actually be a suprisingly good movie. You never know until you see it. The nice thing about this movie is it most likely won’t require motion sickness pills as it is filmed in a house, with little camera movement, you hope…:)
It could either be another “Blair Witch” or “The St. Francisville Experiment.” IMHO, the former was brilliant and “St. FE” was the most laughable piece of crap ever filmed.
I watched a Trailer on this where they show the audience reaction, lol. They really look like they’re freaked out of there minds!

Watch it!! I’m sure it’s not real footage, but I for one can’t wait to see the film!
Amb3rfaith,
Ha!
OK, maybe this will be a good “cheap thrill” flick.
I already got my tickets for the Hollywood screening this Thursday.

Amb3rfaith,
Hahaha… I should.
Who else is going to go watch this film? Don’t forget to post your reviews.

Guys,
So I RSVP to this premier. In their email it says that the film will start promptly around 11:59 pm.
So me and my girl get there at 11:00 pm and guess what?
The line is around the block. It pours onto Sunset Blvd. It was disorganized and people cutting in left and right. We asked the person in charge there that if we still have to stand in line since we had RSVP’d and they say “well, RSVP does not guarantee a seat”.
So why even RSVP? you could have said first come first serve!
She then let us know that there have been people in line since 2:30 PM. WTF?
These guys did not do a good job of informing the people on the list about this massive turn out.
So disappointed.
-Javier
I’ve had similar experiences with the whole ‘RSVP’ thing…knucklehead organizers are trying to make it sound exclusive when it’s not. Very disappointing indeed.
Funny

John,
Hahaha. Do people believe this is real?

I want to see the movie so bad
Saw the movie last night and it was lame, lame, lame. The camera moved so much I had to close my eyes to stop the nausea. The ending was the coolest part of the movie but def not worth the hour and a half wait or the $10.50 I paid to see the movie. It was more comical than scary. Would highly recommend waitng for the DVD if you want to see it.
I seen the movie and it rocks. It was terrifying. Granted it drags alittle in the begginning, but once it got going it was horrifying. The whole theatre was jumping and screaming. Da camera look was interesting it gave it a sense of reality. It wouldnt be the same to watch it at home. Too bad it’s not a true story, but it will have you watching your back at home LOL
its not true, no way a couple will go threw an experience that terrified common sense tells u get out and start running even if its just myself.
have to say the movie started off slow but the last 30 mins were excellent..worth the slow beginning…i wonder if this is real i cant find anything to support that it is…anyone know?
This movie was AWESOME, GREAT, I loved it … It def. Freaked me outtt! Lol I would pay to see it again. Good job Director. I’m stoked the crazy chick is still wondering !! Lol

Nope not real, I watch it online, and I did some research after. It’s not a true story, but rather a film that is very well and realistically done for the budget and techonology that is based on true events. Sorry guys, but its good to know that there are masterminds of entertainment out there :]
I feel sorry for people like Joan who get motion sickness easily- I have a friend who had a hard time enjoying the movie for the same reason.
For the rest of us lucky enough to not have that problem- I loved it!! No way could I have watched that for the first time, at night, at my home. No way.
Desi
well i watched it last night for the first time at 2:30 am at my house alone, and it sucked balls!, not scary a bit, or believeable, people are so soft these days i dont understand all the buzz about this horrible fucking movie…
i think the movie was great even if it was not real.it was awsome!
I Wish they didnt put on the label that it was real!
It was a Good Movie but ComOn Guys!!Where now in the Age Of People Like More Realistic!!Its Better If Joan And Micha Have A sex scene In the movie!
That movie was incredibly scary.I loved it. I was thinking about it at night and I freaked myself out so I slept in the living room with all the lights on. I was sooo scared!
haha im 13 and THIS MOVIE IS pretty scary i have to addmit but to say its real idk not really… but hey who doesnt like a scary movie evern if it isnt real… im hearing all these people say it sucked cause it isnt real… but seriuosly its like u probably watch scary movies all the time that are not even close to real… i know i do! good job… loved the movie
