Unexplained World’s Podcast on December 13th 2009 featured an interview with a owner of a home dubbed “The House of Hell” located in the north eastern Illinois area. The victims talk about demons, evil forces and attacks in which they suffered during their ordeal at the house.

Living in the house for 18 years, they finally decided it was too much and moved out. Losing money, they still opted to move out and are still making mortgage payments on it. Claiming it’s still active, they warn any potential buyers of the evil the house harbors. The interview focuses on the testimony of several family members that have gone through some form of spectral abuse.

I’m not one that believes in demons, but the stories are pretty creepy.

Check out the show’s description:

On this night, we invite a family on the broadcast that has lived in a house called ‘The House of Hell’ in a small city in IL. Listen to their story, they left the house and yet still own it and the demon remains. Edward Shanahan the show’s co-host will be staying there in the future. Join Annette and Edward Shanahan on this broadcast with the family that lived in House of Hell.

sounds like another Amityville story to me! But, i would check it out if they contacted me! And fly me in from Vermont lol,

  • Glen says:

Sigh, what was potentially quite a terrifying account of a haunting, quickly turns into a case of light hearted joking about something serious. I can’t stand these kinds of investigators who try and make themselves out to be a hero; even worse is when they jokingly laugh about how they confront these “demons” and than quickly turn around and try to convince us how serious it was. I think these jokers are just trying to get some attention.

    @Glen

Yea, it started off good when I was listening to it and then quickly degraded itself due to the jokes and interview style.

Cases like these, always remind me of “Amityville Horror”

Yeah, pretty unfortunate cause I was looking forward to subscribing to a new podcast! Javier, you and the Ghost Theory team ever think of doing a monthly podcast?

As per the whole Amtiyville Case, I am FASCINATED with it, as a piece of FICTION. As per the whole true story side of things. Well i can believe blood pouring out of walls, and demonic forces making their presence known. What I can’t subscribe to is these forces only wanting to mess with one family, and not every family who has resided there. Heck, why not even every family on the block??

  • Glen,

The idea of having a GhostTheory Podcast has been thrown around a bit.
Although we do have the audience for such a thing, I think time is more of a concern. Maybe someday we will…we’ll see.

I just finished re-reading the Amityville book. This is for some research I’m doing. A well written book, but far fetched nonetheless.

Research regarding a new Amityville-themed article?

I think the one thing that always stuck with me from the Amityville case was the whole pig monster. Everything else was so-so spooky. But that pig monster was something else. It just screams “hellish” to me… But I guess the Lutz’s thought that too when coming up with everything.

  • Glen,

Not related to Amityville. Related to the Doris Bither case.

Yea, the pig “Jodie” was a creepy demon. A very well written fictional book.

The kid said “TAPS turned us down” and the mom quickly said, “No names.” What’s up with that? I’m wondering why the father wasn’t interviewed and what he would say about what went on. Assuming this is not a hoax (which is a big assumption), maybe there was some genuine phenomena in the beginning and they got in the habit of blaming every unusual or bad thing on what they felt was a “demon”. I get the feeling there was a lot of stress in that household (stress which was there well before any activity might have started up). Also, she mentioned a stream running underneath the house which I’ve read seems to be a common feature with a lot of hauntings (and their story seems to have elements of both a poltergeist and a haunting). If there was a poltergeist the boy seemed to be the focus. Of course I would not be the least bit surprised if it is all a hoax. :) And I also cannot stand when people involved with these sorts of things try to portray themselves as heroic figures.

If I’m losing money and trying to sell my house I’m planting flowers in the front yard, not telling potential buyers about Freddy Krueger living in the attic and that he comes with the house.

Let me assure you that Demonics or diabolical are quite real… But are hardly as they are portrayed… Like any Media working with this subject they are blown out of proportion into an unreal level… But they do exsist…

Anyone who would doubt my claim go and start messing with summoning rituals and the necrinomicon… you wont see blood on the walls maybe but Im sure you will change your tone… Respect evil becuase there is enough in mankind to fuel anything paranormal..

  • jbondo says:

Only took 18 years for them to have had enough. That should say something right there.

*Cough* looking for movie deal *Cough*
