Friday Video: Hauntings Across America

Eleven haunted locations across America; told by various experts in the field of the paranormal. ParanormalTV presents Hauntings in America: Hauntings Across America.

My brother gave me a DVD box set that included this video. It’s a good watch on a rainy day. Most of these accounts you have to take at face value. If you’re in the mood for ghost stories, then definitely watch this video.

zombie_shirtI saw some guy wearing this T shirt today and thought it was cool. Funny. Last night while walking our dog, my girlfriend and I ran into some friends who were also out walking their dog. We were talking about books we’ve recently read. I mentioned that one of the books I’m currently reading was the best-seller “Zombie Survival Guide” by Max Brooks. They had no clue as to what I was talking about. They’ve never heard of it.
So we start to explain to them the gist of the book. Now, one of our friends is a Sheriff for the Los Angeles County. While we were telling them how the book talks about finding the best place to bunker and the best types of weapons to use, he mentions to us that a similar thing is happening in his line of work.

“Zombies?” I said.

“No, not zombies. But we are being trained for when the earthquake hits L.A.” He said.

What my friend was talking about is that some tactical teams in the LAPD and LASD are attending meetings what to do when the “Big One” hits. He said that it is very similar to the “zombie apocalypse” scenario many talk about. They are being advised to keep weapons at home, water and food supplies as well. They plan on having looting and riots in every district of L.A.

Power and water outages, fires, home invasions, looting, gang wars and arson are of big concern to them. So he basically said that what we read and learn for this fictional book can actually come in handy.

No, no need to worry about me fellow readers. I live in a secure building (sort of). I have a neighbor who is a Sheriff, and he has a cache of weapons. I have food and water and the meanest little dog ever. On a more serious note, I’ve already started looking into buying some guns. Legally of course. You never know.
