Poltergeist Family Update: Former Star Of ‘Most Haunted’ Steps In

Well, it only took a few days but paranormal reality television star Derek Acorah claims to have cleansed the house in which a family claims to have been haunted by a poltergeist.
Derek Acorah is the former star of the popular paranormal show Most Haunted. A horrible show, in which Acorah is known for his over-the-top theatrics and sensationalizing events. Acorah said that the home was haunted by an angry spirit known as Jim.

I’ve never been a fan of Most Haunted and I can actually say that I tried to watch one episode of that show. Note the word tried in my last sentence. It was the episode in which the team traveled to Egypt to do a little psychic reading inside the tombs of the ancient pharaohs. To me, it was an appalling look at the level of disrespect the entire team had on the dead. Why the team thought it was OK to ‘chase ghosts’ of the dead pharaohs is beyond me. Especially how ancient Egyptian religion does not consist in the belief that we linger aimlessly after we die. So why Derek Acorah thought it would be OK to chase spirits and ask them to appear before him is simply just a joke. I also see it as somewhat disrespectful to Egyptians. Check out this video of the show. Fast forward to the 4:30 mark to skip the intro.

I’ve been to Egypt and have been inside the tombs, the Valley of the Kings and various other sacred sites. I can tell you is that the ambiance there is calm and you actually can feel the energetic atmosphere when entering the Great Pyramid. It’s all emotional. It was just adrenaline and me being in complete awe of all the beauty that I was surrounded by that made me feel such euphoric feelings. Are the places haunted? Most likely not. Is it OK for psychics to go into these places and actually chase spirits around the tombs? Most likely not.

I try to stay away from badmouthing these paranormal reality shows because some people do enjoy them and do get offended when a bad review is given. Since Derek Acorah is back in the news, I figured I would talk about the one and only show I watched were his persona gave me a good insight as to what he was all about.

When I first wrote about the Manning haunting, I mentioned that an investigation was warranted. An investigation by actual researchers and scientists, not fame-hounding psychics. I guess where there’s an oppurtunity for publicity, these paranormal reality stars will show up. With camera crews and their magic crystals.

Readers, I know some of you enjoy the show, but what do you think of Acorah’s tactics and truthfulness?

TV ‘ghostbuster’ Derek Acorah has stepped in to help a spooked family who claim their house is haunted by a poltergeist.
The former star of the Most Haunted show claims to have banished the ghost called Jim, which apparently moved a chair across a bedroom.
Lisa Manning, 34, and her children Ellie, 11, Jaydon, six, had fled their house in Holbrooks, Coventry, in terror several times because of bizarre events at the property.

Pots and pans were thrown around the kitchen, window blinds moved up and down by themselves, lights switched on and off and drawers opened.

They were even forced to climb out of a window after being trapped in their living room when the door locked by itself.
Miss Manning was initially sceptical when her partner Anthony Powell complained that something strange was going on.
But she changed her mind when their pet dog was mysteriously killed last October after apparently being shoved down the stairs when no one was in the house.

A priest advised them to wear crucifixes after a video camera recorded a chair moving by itself in Ellie’s bedroom.

Poltergeist will often feel an attraction to a child,’ the 61-year-old expert told The Sun.
Acorah has now investigated and suggested an angry spirit was drawn to the little girl, because her room was the subject of the most scary attacks.

‘A poltergeist will often feel an attraction to a child,’ the 61-year-old expert told The Sun.

The psychic lit three candles and put them on the floor in the bedroom, with his set of crystals on the windowsill.
Then, with his eyes closed, he described the ghost as Jim, a ‘very, very angry man’ who had died in around 1900 but never passed into the spirit world.

Acorah ‘cleansed’ the area, telling the family he had ‘closed the door’ that the ghost was using to terrorise them.
Now Miss Manning says their home feels like a different place. She is even withdrawing her request to move from the rented Whitefriars property – as long as there are no more spooky goings on.

‘Derek Acorah confirmed everything. He knew so much about what has been happening,’ she said.
He cleansed the house and he said nothing should come back.

‘He even knew how the dog died. He said he felt the presence of the man who was here and that he had hurt the dog. It was so emotional. He knew what I was saying was true, but it was still nice to hear it from him.’
