I grew up in rural NWPA, surrounded in forest. I took an early interest in cryprozoology and sharks and have read many books on various crypto subjects such as Bigfoot and Megalodon over the years. I am not a professional writer or a journalist, but I do the best I can. I have a quirky, obscurely dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor than can get me in trouble. Some love me and some hate me, but I am who I am.

OK, this is starting to get too creepy!

As many of you know, both Javier and myself have become fixated on the strange sounds emanating from what seems nowhere and everywhere. It all started last year with this article and has continued for months.

These sounds can be described as something out of a science fiction movie. In fact I can’t name a film that has produced sound tracks more eerie than those heard by people all over the planet the past several months. At times they seem rhythmic and melodic while other instances are deafening and just plain scary.

As I mentioned in a past article, it’s as if the planet is moaning or crying out in pain.

The sounds vary somewhat but are also very similar. They can last for minutes or hours depending on the location. It would seem that Canada is quite a hot spot and that is where our main example comes to us from.

As you can see below, the forest workers in the video are amazed and perplexed as they search the skies looking for the source of the strange and astonishing intonation.

Location: Conklin, Albeta
Date: 01/12/12

Watch this next one as the camera person pans around trying to locate the source. Strangely enough, this occurs on the same day as the previous example. Are the two connected in some way?

Location: Czech Republic
Date: 01/12/12

Again, same day but from Chile. Are we detecting a pattern here?

Location: Chile
Date: 01/12/12

While Costa Rica got most of the attention it seems this latest series of incidents was happening all over the world within a two day period on the 11th and 12th of January. Think in terms of time zones and it’s likely one episode witnessed in many locations.

In other words people, this was not an isolated occurrence, which makes it even more creepy. It’s easy to rationalize something that happens in one locale, but not so much when it’s worldwide.

While I was able to find several examples from various countries, the only one I saw of US origin was from Alaska. That’s not to say it wasn’t heard here in America and we may still have an upload from the homeland in the days ahead.

The big issue is that these sounds are still unidentified. Some say it’s the beginning of the coming apocalypse, while others are sure it’s HAARP and still others are less impressed claiming it’s just normal sounds being misidentified. Then there are those who are in complete denial and crying hoax. Could this have something to do with solar flares? It’s a stumper, that’s for sure.

Whatever is happening, it seems to be happening more frequently. Time will tell just how this progresses.

One thing is for certain; people are becoming more and more spooked by this anomaly.

Javier and I will continue to keep you informed as this roller coaster mystery of sound continues.

I think it’s also important to remember December 21, 2012 (Mayan doomsday) is coming up … a lot of these videos/reports could be some kind of promotional stunt. This is like Y2K all over again. Lots of people are trying to make money off of a non-event.

  • I dug into my Corliss catalog of anomalies and came up with some plausible ideas.

i dunno if those forestry workers are trying to make money off a video with a weird very freaky sound. I don’t know what it is but like the horse says in ren and stimpy, ‘no sir, i don’t like it’

  • Tyranitar

did anyone notice that wierd shape that comes in for just a fraction of a second in the first video? its between 1:06 and 1:08, my computer isnt fast enough to get a good look at it but it kinda looks like a person

  • Miss Red, my day is made knowing I made your day 馃榾 Hey, Miss Red… misread, I’m filing this away for a future pun.

I’m a long time GT reader. I’m nut sure what happened to my gravater but I used to have one.

I haven’t heard any of the recorded sounds yet, can’t get them to come up tonight. but it seems similar … For the last few months we’ve been hearing a strange and incredible noise. It’s hard to even attempt to explain. It seems to be coming from above and we always look up to try and see the cause. Most of the time it starts with one of us hearing this massive rumbling and thinking it could be thunder, but then the rumbling doesn’t stop and we go out to see what it is. It lasts anywhere from a minute or two to several minutes. It sounds kind of like the rumbling of a train going over but very different at the same time. It does not sound mechanical at all. It rolls and rumbles and sounds close but can never be seen. Sometimes it’s cloudy out but many times it’s been as clear as can be, either way we can see nothing at all. Whatever it is does not block out the stars. I am not certain but I believe we’ve heard it in the daytime at least once. I can almost feel it moving over us yet the sound doesn’t really start or dissipate like it seems like it should. Toward the end there are times it seems like it’s trailing off but then you realize it hasn’t. It’s hard to explain. Everytime we hear it, we run outside to look. We’ve probably heard it around 10 times total. I haven’t yet but I intend to write the date and time the next time we hear it.
I have no idea what it could be but, in looking for anything similar online I found this and other articles. I’ll keep what I believe it may be to myself for now, but I will say that it feels wrong to me, not of Gaia or nature.

  • Sara,

It would be great if you could record the sound for us. That way we’d have direct evidence from a reader.

We’d love to credit you with this find.

It sounds reminiscient of the “bloop” noise caught on underwater microphones from back in the ’90’s.

There seem to be enough reports like this out there to give some credibility to some of the you tube recordings. And occurrences seem to be increasing in frequency.

Ok I posted about this on my facebook page the other day… along with the referenced video: See list of comments and explanations below…

Tuesday Miles 鈥嶮arc Coppell, there is certain agency’s working on debunking this now, if you notice nobody speaks on these videos, I would of been saying what the hell, yelling for somebody else to hear this. To me it sounds like whale singing. We will see. 馃檪

The one thing I noticed is that other than the footage of the forest workers, most of the footage is shot by a single individual with no other people around. The second things I notice in relation to that is footage shot in populated areas are severely lacking other curious people looking skyward. In the final bit of footage, the camera clearly shows someone walking on the street below and doesn’t stop once to glance around, and just keeps going. Now, you would think that if these noises were that immense it would draw quite a crowd. The footage of the Canadian forest workers could have easily been staged, and as it is it seems staged rather poorly as the “workers” just kind of stand there looking around a bit and don’t really seem to concerned. Most normal people (and I use that term loosely) would have had a stronger reaction. There was no language in ANY of the videos that expressed alarm. In every piece of footage not one person uttered so much as a WTF! Also, in more than one video you can clearly hear noise in the background, indicating the presence of other people yet none of the camera operators bothered to alert anyone else to come and have a listen. As someone who uses sound equipment for a living, you might be surprised how easy it is to manipulate sound to produce some incredible “live” sound effects with very little equipment, although I am inclined to think that most of the noise was added in post because of the lack of other curious onlookers who would have surely heard them. Perhaps for some of the rural settings they used sound equipment to get a “live” feel, but the rest of it really seems faked. I call hoax, and I would have to agree it’s probably some viral marketing scheme.

  • YouTube videos are by their nature evidentially next to useless in terms of proof of anomalous phenomenon. Lot’s of bad evidence doesn’t equal proof. With all the internet gossip and hysteria about 2012 I think we’re seeing a lot of copycat videos regarding these
sounds and this in turn is having a domino effect. Odd, unexplainable sounds have always been with us. They’re more prevalent now not because they’re increasing as we go through the year but because of the internet, 2012 hype and specifically YouTube – people are bandwaggoning and posting because they can. Unfortunately, lost in the rubbish are the very few real instances of genuinely anomalous phenomenon.
