Haunted Cottage

Vince Wilson from Harpers Ferry Haunts has manage to turned the old “Booth’s House” into a new paranormal school called “The Haunted Cottage”.

The “Booth’s House” got its name because according to stories, John Wilkes Booth stayed there. Mr. Wilson purpose is to re-educate the public about the perils of the paranormal.

With so many “in your face” paranormal shows, I think it’s great that people are now taking it upon themselves to show others the possible dangers in the field and responsibilities that paranormal researchers should take.

There needs to be more awareness that in this field, there are no experts. No standards or scientific basis, so everything that is done by researchers will be stigmatized by the scientific community harshly. Let’s hope “The Haunted Cottage” keeps on track.

The Booth House, which dates back 180 years, is the new site for the Haunted Cottage.

Vince Wilson, a paranormal researcher, says, “We will actually re-educate people on the history of the paranormal going back from ancient Babylonia to demonstrate for centuries, millennia even, human beings have believed in an afterlife, a spiritual side to this universe.”

At the Haunted Cottage you can learn how to use paranormal investigative equipment ranging from electro-magnetic field detectors to digital voice recorders to research the supernatural.

“A big aspect of it will be trying to reverse some of the entertainment stigma that has been placed onto ghost hunting and paranormal research from these ghost hunting shows,” Wilson adds.

It will also be a place where people can research the past. Organizers plan to have hundreds of books that date back several hundred years.

The Booth House got its name because it’s believed that John Wilkes Booth stayed there. Fittingly, there are claims that the place is haunted, which is something that is sure to be investigated.

The new paranormal research and training facility is expected to open its doors at the beginning of March.
